WELCOME TO ZUFLUCHT K9S

Where Every Puppy is Family

At Zuflucht we pride ourselves on several key things.

Health:
We put years of effort making sure we get the exact right dogs for our program. When

you need a canine from Zuflucht K9s you can count on the fact that we only use dogs that have

been extensively health tested, not only their parents but their grandparents and great grandparents as well. The canines in our program have also all been carefully evaluated for personality traits that are perfect for The desired goals of that pairing whether it be geared toward service work, working dogs, or Elite  companions.

Temperament:
To ensure that every family finds a puppy that they love but also has the energy level and drive that best fits the families lifestyle puppy selection is done by the breeder. We’ve combined The Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT) along with several other tests we’ve compiled to create a well rounded Temperament Test. Temperament test are completed at 7 weeks of age and selection is based on the results.

Home raised:
Our puppies are born and raised in our home and participate in the puppy culture program while in our care. We understand that environment and exposure is the most important thing in a puppy's development which is why we work with our puppies multiple times a day and they live inside with us. Our puppies go through several programs while in our care including Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Sent Introduction. We start all of our puppies on clicker training, targeting, manding, litterbox training, crate training, scent games, and so much more! If you are interested in a week by week layout of what we do with each of our puppies while in our care reach out to us and we’ll be happy to send it right over.

Communication:
Our priority is to answer all emails, texts and calls with expediency and to address each question individually with our undivided attention.
We post weekly updates, pictures and/or videos of puppies on our Kennel Facebook page, Good Dog, and YouTube. Once puppies are born we send out information at least once a week with free e-books, printables, articles, and videos to help you prepare for the arrival of your new puppy. We love getting to know the families our puppies are going into and are happy to answer any questions. Our help doesn’t end there though! Just because your take your puppy home doesn’t mean we no longer answer your questions. We want not only our puppies but also their family to have a successful relationship with their new member. We’re happy to answer any questions that arise or help you direct those questions to a professional in your area if we do not have the answer. Our clients are the driving force behind Zuflucht K9s and we strive to treat them as such

Elite Family Companions

This part of our program is geared toward individuals who are looking for an adult companion who isn't going through the "Puppy Stage" and has been trained to go out in public. We do similar training that we do for service dogs, but without the task training. These canines spend countless hours addressing proper socialization, going to pet-friendly stores and restaurants, going to parks, and attending soccer games. Each of these environments requires different training and social skills so your canines doesn't become stressed and react. We prepare them so you can take them with you because they are family. These canines have a minimum of a year of training with us and are priced accordingly. Contact us for more information.

Caretaker Program

Are you looking for a companion but can't afford puppy at this time? Maybe you interested in an adult past that puppy stage but don't need as much training as our Elite family companions. Our Caretaker program might be the right fit for you then!

Health for HAPPINESS

Our top priority is to set you and your new dog up for a long and healthy life.  All of the due diligence taken helps us guarantee your puppy has a healthy start, giving Zuflucht Pups the freedom to train for service and therapy work along with our elite family companions.

1

Genetic Testing

Our program has some of the best bloodlines in the world to help us ensure the health, temperament, and confirmation of our foundation stock. To guarantee we have our client's best interest at heart we do extensive genetic testing on all of our canines in our program to make sure your future pups have the best head start possible. We believe in being as upfront and honest with our families and are happy to provide this information. You can go to our Kennel Facebook page and we have a whole album dedicated to nothing but proof of genetic testing that can be viewed freely at any given time.

2

OFA/PennHIP/FCI Testing

We wish to ensure the health and happiness of all of our pups whether it's day 1 or 10 years down the road. To help us in the endeavor, all of our canines have their hips and elbows certified by one of the following organizations OFA, PennHIP, or FCI. Which organization is used is based on if the canine in question was born in our program or imported in from another country. X-rays, screenings, and full health panels are completed by a certified specialist prior to entering our program.

Veterinary Maintenance

While in our care, every puppy receives age-appropriate vaccines, wormers, IDEXX panels, and veterinary examinations. All of our pups are given full health examines prior to leaving our home which covers General Appearance, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Oral Health, Respiratory, Circulatory, Integumentary, Musculoskeletal, Digestive,  Genitourinary,  Neural Systems, Rectal, and Lymph Nodes evaluations. The health and well-being of our puppies are our top priority.

4

Family Raised

Our puppies are born and raised in our home with our family and participate in the puppy culture program while in our care. This leads to well-socialized, confident puppies. Our program is client-focused and our goal is to lay the best foundation possible for our Zuflucht families to be able to continue building on once puppies go home. While they are here your pups are members of the family. They are whelped in our home they eventually move to their play area in our living room so they easily become used to the daily bustle of the household. We word daily with different exercises starting at just 3 days old and it only progresses from there! Every puppy is treated as though it were going to stay with us forever.
